TFTS – On Tuesday, President Donald Trump took to his favorite past-time next to golf or molesting super-models: using social-media to further propagate his own demented views on reality. While arguments can stretch on forever whether or not the President is racist, homophobic or a proponent of class-warfare at least one thing is easy to prove true: he is a selfish, spoiled-brat who panders and manipulates facts to intentionally mislead people.
Twitter responded to this by adding notes to Trump’s tweets about mail-in voting, a system he believes the Democrats abuse to maintain power. Twitter users saw this depressingly normal comment for the President in their feeds, but underneath Twitter linked to articles from fact-checkers about mail-in voting. While conservatives hounded on Twitter, Trump whined that his freedom of speech was being violated.
Remember, Trump was told that he could not ban users on Twitter because anything he says on the platform is considered “on the record”, and every American has the right to see them. Trump does not care about your freedoms, he believes primarily in protecting his. But Twitter is not a public forum, it is a private company and if Trump believes they have a left-leaning agenda then he should leave and find another platform to continue to manipulate people or he should start his own. Rather than that, Trump has determined that Twitter has over-reached, by telling their users that he is providing accurate information, and wants to enact an executive order to stifle the abilities of Social Media companies in combatting “fake news”.

Politifact’s record keeping on Trump’s statements over the past four-to-five years shows that the Presidnt himself has either come out wrong or has willingly provided disinformation more often than he has said the truth. Trump constantly touts any media portraying him negatively to be “fake news”, but when he’s called out on it himself he loses his mind.
Whether what Twitter did was right or wrong, Twitter reserves the right to do it. They own the platform, and if this is how they are going to treat a user (even one as powerful as Trump) like this, they have the right to do that as there is nothing they have done to personally threaten or intimidate the President. But Trump has taken this as a stomp on his civil liberties, something he has done repeatedly to others over the years to reporters and journalists.
As much as Trump loves the spotlight, he hates that their is a mirror behind him reflecting all sides of him to the audience. The press, for the most part, is that mirror. His dynamic lust for a legacy drives him to attempt to build monuments to himself, from giant concrete walls to bases on the moon. Trump is a greedy, selfish pig… but there’s nothing illegal about that. Now Trump wants to attack social-media platforms and begin censoring them or controlling them.

Trump touts that he loves the truth, but in reality he loves his version of the truth. He believes he is automatically deserving of respect and admiration, but as soon as someone disagrees with him he labels them “traitors” and “treasonous”. The President willingly makes enemies out of his own constituents, and those people become targets of vitriol and violence from his followers. Now he’s moving from individuals to full-fledged businesses that have put their foot down and claimed they’ve had enough of him willingly misleading their customers. Just like Trump would have the authority to kick anyone off his own properties for any reason, or no reason, Twitter reserves the same right. Twitter does not have to allow the President onto their platform, and yet they have allowed him to stay even though his actions could be considered some of the most aggressive cyber-bullying and trolling in Internet history.
Tomorrow (Thursday) Trump will sign an executive order pertaining to Social Media. What it will detail, I don’t know. But I do know this: Trump does not believe in Freedom of Speech. Trump does not care about the facts. Trump does not care about whether what you believe is true or not. Trump cares about maintaining and preserving his legacy. Tomorrow’s executive order, at least in my book, will permanently mark him as a sore-loser and an uncooperative man-child. I imagine that Twitter and other websites are preparing for lawsuits based on the President violating our Constitution and our civil liberties guaranteed within.
Donald Trump is a danger to the American people, because he is willing to do whatever he can to prevent his image from being tarnished. Whether what Twitter did is right or wrong, Trump’s response will undoubtedly violate the Bill of Rights and will begin a new age of government control and regulation over information.
It doesn’t matter if his record was completely spotless up until this point, he is going to attempt to stifle our access to discerning opinions and that is a sign we are being led by a egotistical fascist.
